In spite of our selfless dedication and generous donations from various sources, the MET school is facing various challenges. Most of these are finance related.
According to an estimate, at present the per-student cost to school is Rs. 13000 per month, 40% of which is met through donations in the form of equipment and stationary. The rest still has to be met with the tuition fee. Besides, there has been a gradual increase in staff salaries due to new staff and increments for the existing staff. An increase in cost is visualized for the future.
The anticipated budget for the year 2006-2007 is Rs.5.5 million that exceeds the amount earned from tuition fee alone.
Our Goals for the Next Phase Include:
- A four-room teacher training center for the whole district.
- Parent-teacher meeting rooms.
- A Faculty conference room.
- An amphitheater and a student center
Recreational Activities:
Sports
The school authorities are very keen on providing Co-curricular activities to students including stage dramas, table tennis, badminton, volleyball, basketball and football. We believe all sorts of recreational activities are essential for the development of a healthy personality. For all these activities, a proper playground and a well-facilitates auditorium are required. Moreover, a Book Bank would be an asset to the students to make quality books more accessible to them-enabling them to excel in O' and A' level examinations.
Milk Fund
A Milk Fund is already operational catering to the deserving students who come to school without breakfast. These students are recommended by teachers on account of poor attention during lessons. Mr. Jawad Malik sponsors 8oz glass of Nestle' milk.Lu Biscuit manufacturers Karachi sponsors for Tiger Biscuits. The school intended to extend this program even further by adding a bun to a glass of milk but had to give up the idea due to lack of funds.
All these challenges can only be met with more donations and contributions. |
